Getting ServiceTitan's AI (Atlas and Max) working in a real shop
ServiceTitan has moved fast on AI. In ServiceTitan's own words, Titan Intelligence is "AI for the trades" that powers insights, predictions and specialized agents, and Atlas is the conversational interface on top of it (ServiceTitan Help Center: Atlas). On October 6, 2026, ServiceTitan announced that its AI-powered Max package is now available to every residential in-home contractor, with a limited pilot for commercial and roofing contractors (ServiceTitan press release).
That is a lot of capability. In most shops the hard part isn't buying it; it's deciding what to switch on, writing the rules, and getting a dispatcher with fifteen years of habits to trust it. That is the work I do.
I'm Grant Morris, an independent consultant. I'm not a ServiceTitan partner or reseller and I don't earn commission on your contract. I was COO of Boise Valley Heating & Air. #4 on BoiseDev’s 2024 Peak 43: Boise Valley Heating & Air, while Grant was COO. 1,548.5% revenue growth, 2020–2023. I've run a trades office from the inside.
What ServiceTitan says is there today
According to the Atlas help article, Atlas is available in several places:
- Technician mobile and Field Pro: techs can ask about the job, the customer and the equipment; Field Pro adds equipment documents, troubleshooting guidance, calculators and replacement-parts lookup.
- Help Center: Atlas powers the support chatbot.
- Adaptive Capacity: capacity rules can be created and updated in plain language.
- Atlas mobile app: a separate app for owners and leadership to check performance, in early access for companies on Max.
- Settings: administrators assign each employee an Atlas persona that sets what Atlas can do for them.
ServiceTitan's October 2026 release describes the Max package as pairing Atlas with automations and AI agents across the business. Check your own account and your rep for what is included in your package.
Where a consultant helps
Deciding what to turn on first. Max and the AI add-ons touch booking, dispatch, sales and the back office. Turning everything on at once is how adoption fails. We pick the one workflow with the clearest cost (usually missed calls or unsold estimates) and start there.
Writing the rules. Atlas personas, capacity rules and call-handling rules all need decisions only your shop can make: who gets priority, what gets escalated, which job types can be booked without a person.
Cleaning the data AI reads. AI answers are only as good as the price book, job types and customer records behind them. A short cleanup often matters more than any new feature.
Adoption. Ride-alongs, short training for CSRs and techs, and a simple scorecard so you can see whether the change stuck.
Evaluating Max before you sign. Whatever package you are on today, the assessment lists what you already own and what Max would add, so the sales conversation starts from facts.
How we'd work together
- Free 15-minute discovery call about your package, your phones and your board.
- AI Assessment (paid): what you own, what's switched on, the bottlenecks ranked, one capped project.
- Configure, test, hand off in your ServiceTitan account, with plain-language notes.
Meetings are virtual, or in person in the Treasure Valley. Trade pages: HVAC, plumbing, electrical. Other platforms: Housecall Pro, Jobber, Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Is Atlas accurate? ServiceTitan's help article addresses accuracy directly; in practice, accuracy depends on how clean your data is, which is part of the work.
Can you set up AI call answering? I can help you decide whether ServiceTitan's AI options fit your call types, write the escalation rules and test them before go-live.
