Jobber automations and AI Receptionist, set up for how your shop works

Jobber has quietly become a capable automation platform. Its pricing page lists automated client reminders, automated quote and invoice follow-ups, a custom automation builder, auto-drafted quotes, Jobber AI Voice and Chat, and an AI-powered Receptionist that can answer calls and texts and book jobs into your calendar (Jobber pricing and plan features).

Most shops on Jobber use a slice of that. The reminders are on, the follow-ups are default text nobody edited, and the automation builder has never been opened. That's not a criticism; it's what happens when the owner is also the estimator and the office is one person. I help Jobber shops set these features up properly, around how they actually quote, book and get paid.

The Jobber automations worth setting up first

Quote follow-ups that sound like you. Jobber can follow up automatically by email or text when a client hasn't responded to a quote. The default message is generic. We rewrite it in your voice, set the timing to match how your customers decide, and decide when a person should call instead.

Custom automation builder. Jobber describes it as custom-built automations for client and internal communications that fit your quoting and invoicing process. Typical first builds: a request that sits too long alerts the owner, a high-value quote triggers a same-day call task, a completed job triggers a review request and a maintenance reminder.

Auto-drafted quotes. Jobber can draft a quote from a new request. Drafts are only as good as your line items, so we tidy the products and services list and the common job templates first.

Receptionist. Jobber's Receptionist provides 24/7 service by call or text, answering questions and booking jobs. You control what it can and can't do. That control is the setup: which services it can book, how it handles emergencies, what it says about pricing, and how it hands off to you.

Invoice follow-ups and automatic payments. Overdue invoices and recurring work are where automation pays without anyone noticing, as long as the rules match your terms.

What a first Jobber project looks like

A typical first project picks one leak and fixes it end to end. For a lawn or cleaning company that might be quotes that never get a second touch: we rewrite the follow-up messages, add a task for high-value quotes, and check after a month how many open quotes got a response. For an HVAC or plumbing shop on Jobber it is more often after-hours calls: Receptionist rules written and tested, plus a morning summary for whoever runs the schedule. Either way, the project has a written scope, a cap, and a before-and-after check you can read yourself.

How we'd work together

  1. Free 15-minute discovery call: your plan, how quotes and bookings flow today, and where things stall.
  2. AI Assessment (paid): what your Jobber plan already includes, what's switched on, the bottlenecks ranked, one capped project.
  3. Configure, test, hand off in your Jobber account, with plain-language notes your office can maintain.

Meetings are virtual, or in person in the Treasure Valley. Trade pages: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping. Other platforms: Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Jobber questions

Do I need to upgrade my plan? Not always. The assessment lists what your current plan includes before anyone suggests an upgrade.

Will Receptionist book jobs I don't want? Only if it's allowed to. We set what it can book and test it with sample calls before it goes live.

Do you work for Jobber? No. I'm independent and paid by you.
